The African Karité tree, or the Shea tree, bears green fruit with 4 cm large seeds. These seeds consist of 50% of the coveted vegetable fat needed for the production of shea butter. The other 50% of the seed contains a nutritious pulp that can be eaten.

In Africa, this multi-functional, sweet-smelling skin care product has been used for several centuries, especially for infants. When applied to the skin, the at first firm consistency of the butter changes into a gentle oil. It can be used for the body, hair and for massages.
